I am not aware of any layers having an incorrect type - FWIW this is one of
the short list of things I check when I am reviewing submissions.

For clarity, since there were two separate things a little bit mixed together
in Mark's explanation:

1) There has been no change to the behaviour or values in the layer type field
(Core / distro / machine / software / misc).

2) What was just corrected was the collection of distro configurations (conf/
distro/*), now displayed under "Distros" in the layer index (click "Distros"
then "Search" with no keyword to see all indexed distros). This was a recently
introduced feature, but collection was being blocked by a failure to reload
data on master caused by a bug that I introduced earlier.

3) The layer type field has no bearing on whether distro conf files are found
and listed under "Distros" in the index.

Cheers,
Paul
