Description:
OpenEmbedded provides a build environment for cross-compilation, packaging and creation of images for Linux-based embedded systems.

OpenEmbedded supports building a wide variety of software and includes support for various popular programming languages such as C, C++, Perl, Python, Java, C# (Mono), Vala and more.

Popular projects that use OpenEmbedded at their core include the Yocto Project, Gumstix, WebOS, Beagleboard/Pandaboard, etc.

Coordinator's affinity to the project:
I have been contributing to OpenEmbedded since 2012, and have volunteered this year to submit the stand proposal. The stand itself will be organised and manned by several long-term contributors who have been involved in previous years.

Why does it fit FOSDEM
OpenEmbedded has gained a foot-hold in the commercial embedded Linux industry, but is itself completely community- and volunteer-based. The OpenEmbedded stand will be manned by several long-term contributors to the project. We will show the latest advancements in soft- and hardware in the embedded Linux field that people working on the project did in their spare time and/or work-time projects.

The stand gives interested individuals the possibility to inform themselves about the OpenEmbedded project and related projects as well as all things embedded Linux.
