page to take the bug?  i.e. reassign to me, given the current account I'm
logged in under, and add the original assignee to the CC list?

There's been a lot of discussion back and forth upstream about it. 
Unfortunately, the outcome was the current, somewhat clumsy approach.  Maybe we
can take the patch from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37613 and
beat it into shape for the current installation.
