Well, I was advised to use binutils 2.17 earlier and I am not particularly
dependent to it, so yes, I could change to binutils 2.15.

Unfortunately, I am currently unable to reproduce the error, since our configs
have changed quite deeply due to a change of hardware platform. Nevertheless,
thanks for your help, I'll be marking this bug as fixed.
