This package requires 1.2 or later version of util-macros. 

the following is adopted from the configure.ac of this package:
XORG_MACROS_VERSION(1.2)

After adding below into local.conf, the error disappeared.

PREFERRED_VERSION_util-macros ?= "1.4.1"
PREFERRED_VERSION_util-macros-native ?= "1.4.1"
