This bug still shows up on today's GIT and today's bitbake, both on
e2fsprogs-libs and util-linux-ng recipes.

This always fixes it for me:

"run bitbake -c clean e2fsprogs-libs, bitbake -c rebuild e2fsprogs-libs"
(same for util-linux-ng)

So the original poster's patch may be bogus, we don't know for sure.
