I think the wiki front page has become a bit cluttered by now, too many items. 
Here's what I would like to do.

* trim down description of what OE is
* move news section to its own box 
* free up that space by moving distribution to community box and delete this
box
  no more link to devices category from front page

This goes in line with what Marcin proposed at
http://wiki.openembedded.net/index.php/User:MarcinHrwJuszkiewicz/news

for automatic handling of news while continuing to keep the front page locked
down, I suggest using an extension such as
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:DynamicPageList or
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:News

Let's do this after the wiki has moved to melo.  But nothing holds us back to
discuss options now.
