I've encountered the same bug with two subsequent recipes for wpa_supplicant,
versions 0.6.7 and 0.6.9. 

My build machine runs Gentoo, although it theoretically shouldn't matter that
much. My target is om-gta02 building the fso-testing-image. The build error is
attached. 

Actually, I believe that the error is in BitBake, and not necessarily in the
packaging or patching of wpa_supplicant, and it sounds like something I've
actually fixed and submitted a patch for in the past. 

I'll see if I can dig up the relevant patch from my history of submissions.
