on my machines this bug are still present using the latest git tree of
org.openembedded.dev with the recent e2fs recipe updates. and bitbake.

bitbake svn revision 1179
BitBake Build Tool Core version 1.8.13, bitbake version 1.8.13

    zaurusd: update to latest svn (as of 20090501)

I have tested building by first cleaning up e2fsprogs-libs:
bitbake -c clean e2fsprogs-libs ; bitbake e2fsprogs-libs

i have tested running bitbake on another ubuntu machine as well, running:
Ubuntu-Server 8.04.1 Hardy Heron

Python: 2.5.2

and the output  when running bitbake -c clean e2fsprogs-libs ; bitbake
e2fsprogs-libs are still:

TypeError: do_split_packages() got an unexpected keyword argument 'allow_links'
ERROR: Task 12
