I think it is better to use newer u-boot with these platforms.
for afeb9260 I use some tested commit hash and u-boot_git.bb
1.1.x versions are not supported by upstream (u-boot) anyway.
at91sam9260-ek is well supported by new u-boot versions
(same hash as afeb9260 at least). I could say the same for at91sam9g20-ek.
Later was greatly tested at Siemens :)
