Summary: tosa: prism2-usb causes kernel panics upon insertion
in kernel
Product: Zaurus Kernel
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: angstrom, oops
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: tosa
AssignedTo: openembedded-commits at lists.openembedded.org
ReportedBy: deathstalker at gmail.com
Depends on: 5402
Blocks: 2309
(This is a build of the dev branch of angstrom, kernel 2.6.29, built on
20100217 on a Kubuntu 9.10 x86-64 PC with bitbake updated to 1.8.18 )
Two problems with usb on tosa so far:
1) ohci-hcd is not inserted on boot. (See Bug #5402)
2) upon insertion of prism2-usb, there are a number of kernel panics, they fill
the buffer, and I unfortunately don't have a serial cable to catch them,
attached is the output of dmesg following it, in the hope that even that small
amount will work.
This happened on both opie-image and x11 (gpe), I initially thought that it was
ohci-hcd, as I inserted that second when testing on opie repeatedly, then did
it in the other order on gpe, and checked, there were no problems indicated.
The attachment comes from gpe. I also tried it without g_ether loaded thinking
conflicts with it may have been the problem, but that didn't affect it. (The
attachment has g_ether loaded, if anyone wants one without it loaded, I'd be
willing to make a log.)
After it loaded (and caused the attached), a device was created and sometimes
responded to commands (setting essid, for example).
I'll continue testing on my own, and try to find a solution, but any pointers
would help.
