Summary: linux do_package generates a breathtaking amount of
output
Product: Openembedded
Version: org.openembedded.dev
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: angstrom
Severity: minor
Priority: P4
Component: unspecified
AssignedTo: openembedded-commits at lists.openembedded.org
ReportedBy: henri.bragge at dcombus.com
I've a problem in building linux (most recently with linux_2.6.34.bb, and some
older versions too) task do_package. It's mostly cosmetic, but it slows down
the build and obscures build logs quite a bit.
Over a half of my build logs are polluted with notes about staged kernel
headers and other stuff that are not shipped in any package. I think this
problem was introduced in the new staging system.
NOTE: the following files were installed but not shipped in any package:
NOTE: /kernel/System.map-2.6.34
NOTE: /kernel/kernel-ldsuffix
...
Is there any way to make bitbake not to care about these files?
I'm using a somewhat newest oe.dev (89c8847b89a370422926a461583538a34ef77c8d)
and bitbake 1.18.8. Image is Angstrom minimal-image for qemuarm on Debian
lenny.
This should happen very commonly, but didn't find any discussion on this.
