[OE-core] trying to use oe-core, and failing

Ok, I'm trying to use oe-core...

What I have done is git checkout of the openembedded-core repository, then
checked out the bitbake repository.

I run the poky-init-build-env, and attempt to build something..  I end up with
an error:

Failure expanding variable SRCPV, expression was ${@bb.fetch2.get_srcrev(d){
which triggered exception AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute fetch2.

So clearly something is wrong with my setup.  Is there a specific setup that
should allow me to start helping with the cleanup?
