Just moving the old defconfig means that we don't have any explicit control of how busybox is built. (It's left to the default in busybox for all new/renamed features). See e.g. http://lists.linuxtogo.org/pipermail/openembedded-core/2011-November/012986.html for a discussion of some of the new features that will be enabled by default. Remember though, that a number of new features had already been disabled prior to the creation of the list being discussed in that email.
