Eric,
  The sdk gdb from meta-toolchain for qemuarm is also failing similarly:

*** glibc detected *** arm-poky-linux-gnueabi-gdb: double free or corruption (out): 0x00007f8ef7992030 ***
Aborted (core dumped)
