I think the problem was you were doing SRCREV_FORMAT_append += instead of
SRCREV_FORMAT_append = with the result that an unwanted space was inserted (+=
adds a space). For this sort of thing I would be tempted to use .= rather than
_append as well since .= is immediate (whereas _append and _prepend are
deferred).
