I guess you mean striplevel? Right? It didn’t work with stripnum but it worked with striplevel:

Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?

If the patch needs -p0 then you need to tell bitbake this with the ;stripnum=0 parameter in SRC_URI.
