Familiar is unmaintained in OE, so your error messages don't surprise us.

You could try

DISTRO=angstrom-2007.1
DISTRO=celinux-test
DISTRO=generic
DISTRO=openzaurus-unstable

To get a distro that regularly checked for problems.
