The most important things are that 'MAINTAINER' points the user to an identifiable person
or group, not '1337nick' *and* that a mail to the address won't bounce, like the yahoo
groups will do.
I personally have no objection against (minor) obfuscation, *if* we were to use it there
would need to be a strict policy on how to obfuscate it.
