Hi,
the hunting season has begun: FOSDEM organisers accept requests for
devrooms and stands. The stuff I prepared below should be sent
(literally or modified) to devrooms@fosdem.org before Saturday
2008-11-22, 23:59 CET.

All details can be found here:
http://fosdem.org/2009/call_for_devrooms_and_stands

The most important bit is IMHO finding one or two volunteers who want to
take the role of the devroom and/or stand responsible.

Devroom request:

Project Name	: OpenEmbedded
Website : http://openembedded.net

Description	: OpenEmbedded is a sophisticated environment for
cross-compiling software. It supports the generation of complete
Linux-based operating system images for various architectures and builds
~6000 software packages. The project forms the base for distributions
like Angstrom, OpenMoko and SlugOS.

Devroom Responsible:

As a project dealing with embedded Linux we are happy to cooperate with
other projects from that area.

----------------------------

Stand request:

Project Name	: OpenEmbedded
Website : http://openembedded.net

Description	: See above.

Planned activities:
	* demonstrate embedded hardware running OE-derived OS
	* hand out flyers
	* explain OE

Stand Responsible:

Regards
Robert

>>> the planning for FOSDEM 2009 will start soon and as such I think we
>>> should be prepared for this.
>>
>> did they finally manage to decide when FOSDEM should take place?
>=20
> Yes. Feb 7-8.
>=20
>>
>>> a) Do we want a developer room to present talks and organise discussi=
ons
>>> about all things OE?
>>
>> That would be pretty nice. Its quite likely that we have quite some OE=

>> people
>> there. If we can arrange this we could have some kind of booth in
>> there for
>> spreading information about OE and a bunch of hacking OE developers
>> for some
>> room 'decoration' around it.
>>
>>> Maybe OE-only is a bit to strict in this regard and we can make it a
>>> "Embedded FOSS" developer room instead. This also depends on the amou=
nt
>>> of rooms being made available by the organisers, of course.
>>
>> Yes that would be the way to go. We might look around and invite some
>> other
>> projects to join.
>=20
> I like the idea of an embedded hacking room in addition to the regular
> embedded talks. I suppose we should put in a request. We should
> coordinate our request with the guy who organizes the embedded talks.
> Maybe, moving the weekend has created more room ....

>>
>>> b) Do we want a booth for OE like last year? Do we have flyers left? =
Is
>>> anyone willing to make new ones?
>>
>> Yes we have some flyers left and I can make some new ones. We still
>> have the
>> poster from LinuxTag as well.
>>
>> Greetings
>>
