This is just a note - the problem itself was solved by me. It seems that
diet-x11 introduces some problems, mostly garbled colors under Xfbdev (IceWM
being blue, rxvt being pink, etc). It would be best that, for anyone
experiencing such problems, you move back to libx11 (And possibly set
PREFFERED_PROVIDERS_virtual/x11 = "libx11" in the distro file or whatever)
until such problems have been taken care of in upstream.
