I can confirm the exact problems with dbus-0.92.

I can also confirm problems with dbus-1.0.1, although I'm not sure they caused
by the same thing. Running Gnumeric under IceWM states, for example:

"GConf-WARNING **: Client failed to connect to the D-BUS daemon:
Failed to execute dbus-daemon to autolaunch D-Bus session"

"env" doesn't seem to have any entries for DBUS. "ps" tells me that dbus-daemon
is running.
