what specifically did you comment out to build glibc?
I tried commenting out the line
ENABLE_BINARY_LOCALE_GENERATION ?= "0"
in  glibc-package.bb
but that didn't help. I have installed qemu from my distro (suse 10.2 x86_64)
version 0.8.2-22 and added the line:
ASSUME_PROVIDED += "qemu-native"
to conf/local.conf.
