An excerpt from the Packages file should make the problem a bit clearer:

Package: gdk-pixbuf-loader-ani
Depends: gtk+-dbg, gtk+ (>= 2.8.9), libglib-2.0-0 (>= 2.12.3), libc6 (>= 2.5)

Package: gconf-dbus-locale-am
Depends: gconf-dbus-dbg, virtual-locale-am

While harmless, it makes images bigger than strictly necessary
