As I understand the situation, the MACHINE.conf files only lists built-in
hardware features of the device (such as a CF slot, IRDA, etc) but not any
possible add-on hardware that can be added via available sockets / ports. The
aim of this behavior is to generate very small "bootstrap" images.

It is in the responsibility of the DISTRO maintainers to add additional drivers
/ applications.

Koen, mickeyl? What's your opinion?
