Summary: nmap does not work as root when built with gcc4
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: eha at doredevelopment.dk

This is a known problem with at least some versions of nmap. I have found
documentation of the problem with nmap-3.80, nmap-3.81 and nmap-3.84 (the
version current in oe).

Here is a few links to other reports of this problem.

I have not been able to find a patch for this, but I assume it has been fixed
in recent nmap versions (currently at 4.20).

I have not been able to do the quick fix by building just nmap-3.84 with an old
gcc3 version without switching my entire oe back to gcc3.

I suggest an upgrade to nmap-4.20.
