qemuarm emulates scsi drive.
the simple way to work on the emulator is a ext2 file system image.

in conf/machine/include/qemu.conf
IMAGE_FSTYPES ?= "tar.bz2 ext2"

but
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/images/qemuarm/20070709/
does not see ext2 image.
