I have updated to OE of 1-sep-2007, and I think the remaining issues I reported
is still there, re-opening for this purpose.

Testing a (one-letter) fix, which I will commit once I verified it:
get_glibc_fpu_setting must be get_eglibc_fpu_setting in the eglibc bbclass.
