To hide splash during boot is a bit tricky:
The moment splash appears, immediately start repeatedly pressing Left and
Right, while holding Fn button.
It might not work on first attempt, though.
Sprinkle the keypresses with occasional Up and Down. You might need to release
Fn button between keypresses. This is from memory, as I don't have the machine
to recreate exact keypress sequence.
