With current Angstrom builds, bluez pinned at 3.22, following happens on h4000,
hx4700:

$ hciattach /dev/ttyS1 texas 115200
$ hcitool scan --refresh
Scanning ...
[long pause]
        00:01:E3:08:xx:2C       n/a
        00:1A:6B:14:xx:69       n/a

Note: speed set at 115200, so no BRF chip specific init scripts are needed.
This used to work with early 3.x versions (well, it was earlier kernels too).
