           Summary: base-image unbuildable for some machines
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: Angstrom 2007.12
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.3
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: koen at openembedded.org

ERROR: No buildable providers available for required build target base-image
('['task-base-ext2']')

Task-base doesn't build task-base-ext2 for a combination of MACHINE and DISTRO
features, so base-image is unbuildable.

Steps to reproduce:

* MACHINE=omap5912osk
* bitbake base-image

There are a few possible solutions:

* adjust MACHINE_FEATURES, but that is likely to go against the idea of
MACHINE_FEATURES
* have base-image RRECOMMEND task-base-ext2, but that's likely to go against
the idea of base-image
* have task-base always build task-base-ext2, but that undoes Marcins recent
refactoring

Rod, any ideas on this?
