No, that's feudalistic point of view, the same reasoning ("machine X IMHO
doesn't need generic feature Y") is the reason why there was *no* ext3 support
at all. For any generic feature, distro selects what should be there, and no
machine should obstruct that in any way (positive or negative). So, if Angstrom
should support ext3 OOB and in general fashion, that should be RFCed.
