Summary: Network application bug and enhancement request
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: OpenZaurus 3.5.4.x
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Distributions
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: undrwater at gmail.com
         QAContact: tinderbox-oe at gmx.net

The internal wifi adapter cannot be stopped via the network application.

I must admit I don't understand well the wifi commands but I was able to stop
wifi on the console via:
/etc/init.d/networking stop

Doing the same with a "start" command and following it with:

ifconfig wlan0 up

gets it going again.

What would be ideal would be an applet similar to Sharp's that allows multiple
AP configurations and starts and stops the chip gracefully (I don't want it on
if I'm reading a book).

wifi-radar is an app that seems to perform this function, but won't install due
to dependencies:

So I'm guessing this is for GPE and not OPIE.

Thank You,

Russell Dwiggins
