oh yes, it's definitely the right choice 
(I won't tell you where the problem was: my reputation is already so
compromised ;) )
The defconfig needs a good review (defconfigman seems the solution): 
I realized I can include some of the needed alsa modules and keeping the zImage
around 1.5Mb (the linux bootloaders for palms get into troubles with bigger
images), thus reducing the needed RDEPENDS to 3 or 4 modules (note: I'm
actually including these rdepends into my local.conf (cbrake, thx for the
article!) )

the H&D kernel is stick at 2.6.17 ... 
I haven't yet tried defconfigman, but it looks that this version is not
supported :/ : this will probably push me in attempting merging the TX code to
the HH.org tree (sorry, I haven't got that much time up until now)
