Summary: Lack of joystick support for 3.5.4 releases on
                    SL6000/tosa
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: OpenZaurus 3.5.4.x
          Platform: ARM
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Distributions
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: stephen.tansing at csiro.au
         QAContact: tinderbox-oe at gmx.net

I have a Sharp SL-6000W (tosa) with OpenZaurus 3.5.4 (Opie 1.2.1, linux kernel
2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix-3.5.4). I wish to fit the PDA with a USB joystick.
However based on general Linux USB joystick documentation this requires the
input.o, joydev.o and hid.o kernel modules. The joydev and hid modules are
available for Tosa with OZ 3.5.4 but the input.o module is not. In the collie
and poodle releases however, the input.o kernel module is present. Is there a
reason the input module could not be supported on the SL-6000/tosa?

The poodle and collie targeted OZ3.5.4 input.o modules do not work with the
tosa targeted OZ3.5.4 distribution: they fail with "Device or resource busy".
Is a tosa version of the input module available although not in the linuxtogo
mirror?

OpenZaurus 3.5.4.2 release candidates don't have the input or joydev modules
but do have the hid module. Will 3.5.4.2 (2.6.17 linux kernel) get joystick
support?
