I described my GPE on collie install process recently on the angstrom-devel
mailing list.  Basically, I installed angstrom-console-image in the internal
flash memory, then replaced /sbin/init with a script that creates a loopback
device from a filesystem on a CF card and boots into that.  It works
surprisingly well, although it of course requires you to leave the CF card
inserted at all times.  It's a lot like altboot, but shorter and more
hard-coded.

Note, however, that this bug has nothing to do with GPE.  All I need to freeze
the collie is angstrom-console-image and "cat /dev/rtc0".
