Similar issue in bug 1483

ldd --version (on my host) reports ldd (GNU libc) 2.6. 
Despite PREFERRED_VERSION_glibc ?= "2.5" in Angstrom, I've been baking with
glibc 2.6 happily until hitting this bug.
