Summary: gpe-conf usb is utterly broken
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: Angstrom
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Distributions
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: oe at hentges.net
         QAContact: tinderbox-oe at gmx.net

gpe-conf usb defaults to "Networking" mode if no gadget module is currently
loaded. But since gpe-conf usb will only load a kernel module after a change (
ie: from Networking to Storage ) it is impossible to make it load the g_ether
module for Networking.

Also it tends to get confused about which module needs to be loaded. In
addition to the above it does not remember the last setting. gpe-conf usb
should be better integrated into the distribution by updating a config-file so
an init-script can load the configured module on boot.

The new usb-gadge-mode package might provide the missing integration after
gpe-conf receives some TLC.
