Mark: if it will work ok for gcc with -fno-stack-protector and for gcc without
that switch then it should be accepted. Thats my opinion. We just can not force
usage of it as it breaks for too many users.

Proper fix should be done in more upstream friendly way ofcourse (changed
configure scripts or what perl use) and sent to merge. You can also check perl
bugtracker/ML for existence of proper patch.
