I can confirm that the first two issues are solved (THANKS!) but not the third
one.
There is a working hostperl executable in the build directory as well as in the
staging directory you mentioned. I was not yet able to print the PATH used for
the failing command.
BTW, should my personal PATH settings be able to leak into the build
environment to "fix" the problem?
