--- Comment #14 from Rolf Leggewie <bugs.openembedded.org at rolf.leggewie.biz> 2007-06-16 12:29:23 ---
Great, let's get this moving forward.

Although the BTS is usually not the right place, I think a couple of words from
me are also in order.

First, as I think I already said a couple of times in other places, I
appreciate contribution very much, that is YOUR contributions. I understand
you put a lot of effort into preparing your things, diligently cleaning up any
issue being pointed out. GREAT!

Second, bug 2194 is not my personal bug. Not at all (c.f. bug 2228). There is
no such thing. But I do feel strongly and put a lot of effort into a
functioning bug system. 2194 is just a *VERY* bad cludge around bugzilla
limitations instead of a properly functioning bug triaging process. If
everybody eager to get their stuff committed into OE made their bugs block
2194, it essentially becomes worthless and the core devs will ignore it even
more than I think they already do. Therefore the "don't make your own bugs
block 2184"-clause.

Third, FOSS is a lot about personal itch. Your personal itch seems to be wifi
and especially wifi security. Great! This is not my personal itch. Thus I
created bug 2497 in good faith so you can have your own little mini-community
so to speak to team up with others with the same itch. I ask you to please not
devalue your contribution by sucking up time here or in IRC that could better
be spend on other things (yes, there are other contributors, too, that demand
attention!). You have made your work public here. Anybody that is interested
in it already has access to it. I guess there *really* is nothing more you can
do now than to be patient until one of the OE devs discovers their personal
itch for wifi security and commits your packages which are conveneniently
grouped with other related things around bug 2497. I am sorry, but you will
have to be patient!
