Makefile.SH.patch is copied into ${S}/Cross by do_configure.
It's then applied via the "oe_runmake patch" at the end of do_configure.

This seems to be some issue specific to DISTRO = "openmoko" since this is the
second report in two days of it being broken for that. It's not clear how that
could be an issue when it builds for pretty much everyone else (i486 and sh4
for me).

I'd need to see the log.do_configure file to be able to say any more.
Also run file on miniperl in ${S} to make sure it's built for the correct arch.
