Interesting to see that you did not display the courtesy to pick up this easy
to fix suggestion.  Especially after repeatedly making such a big fuss in IRC. 
Well, ...

BTW, after revisiting this bug I am completely stunned as to how this could
have "come off as insulting"  Maybe adjust your friendliness detector?
