What I mean (after read the error log more carelully):

1 - I think that open zaurus is discontinued and you should change to Angstrom
distribution (akita is supported in Angstrom).

2 - Before create the gpe image based on angstrom , upate the repository to the
lastest version.

Angstrom is using the cairo version 1.4.4

> NOTE: preferred version 1.3.12 of cairo not available

and gtk+ version 2.10.12

> checking for GTK... Requested 'gtk+-2.0 >= 2.8.0' but version of GTK+ is
2.6.10
