I wonder if this isn't the RPATH issue. Do you see something like this in the
output:

 ERROR: QA Issue package lftp contains bad RPATH 
/home/lenehan/devel/oe/build/titan-glibc-25/tmp/staging/sh4-linux/lib:/home/lenehan/devel/oe/build/titan-glibc-25/tmp/cross/lib/gcc/sh4-linux/3.4.4/../../../../sh4-linux/lib
in file
/home/lenehan/devel/oe/build/titan-glibc-25/tmp/work/lftp-3.5.1-r0/install/lftp/usr/bin/lftp

If your distro is using insane.bbclass then it would stop at this point and I
think that's just before the packaging (I have a local change to prevent this
stopping the builds).
