I think bug 1952 is related because the new version is need exactly due to the
build failure of the current version.

The failure mentioned in 1998 and 1929 is exactly the one in your log.

It will most likely solve the build problem for you, but I doubt it will affect
functionality for which is version bump is likely needed. I haven't got to test
it though, yet. Hopefully, I'll get to play with it before I leave.

Anyway, I think all the bugs mentioned are actually referring to the same
issue, so I'd suggest that we close all but one (whichever).
