I installed Gimp on my Spitz:

root at brick:~$ ipkg install gimp
Installing gimp (2.3.10-r1) to root...

Configuring gimp
root at brick:~$ gimp
-sh: gimp: not found
root at brick:~$ ipkg files gimp
Package gimp (2.3.10-r1) is installed on root and has the following files:

However, when I manually download the .deb file onto my desktop and unpack its
data.tar.gz, it contains:

In other words, it contains only directories but no files. The directories are
created on the Spitz. When uninstalling the package, the directories are not
removed.
