Compilation runs through if that patch is removed from the bb file.  Not sure
about functionality, though.  I have taken the liberty to commit this
nonetheless in the spirit of "release early and release often" so others can
play with this and improve it.

I will leave this report open until someone confirms that the status quo in OE
can be considered FIXED.
