Would that be a valid fix?

package_deb.bbclass sets a certain variable which is evaluated by
debian.bbclass and when it is found to be set it replaces slashes with hyphens.

Additionally package_deb.bbclass replaces slashes with hyphens when writing the
"Provides" entry, too.

I am sorry. I lack the python skills to find the correct spot in debian.bbclass
to add the name conversion.

Rodigo: If the above suggestion sounds reasonable, could you provide a patch to
test?
