In the course of building illume for openmoko, I have had trouble building
various e17-related requirements.  edje_cc (built for i686, on 32-bit Ubuntu
7.10) segfaults in the save_image_png() function of evas(-native).

I could blather on endlessly, but rather than do so, I'll let the logs,
backtraces, and straces do the talking (long, but hopefully helpful).  I'll
attach them.
